Yi-Tai Chung is an artist working with light. Chung designs lighting for classical and new play, dance, opera, musical, and exhibition. He received his MFA in Design and Technology at the University of Texas at Austin. He served as Instructional Assistant Professor of Lighting Design at the University of Mississippi from 2018 to 2021. He is currently based in Taiwan.
Chung’s lighting design for the opera Dialogues of the Carmelites was selected for the World Stage Design 2017 Exhibition. His project, Visualizing Invisible Cities, investigates how content in stories inspires and translates into different art forms including photography, installation, and lighting design. This project was displayed as a part of USITT's Emerging Artist Exhibit at both the USITT Conference in Louisville, KY and the Prague Quadrennial in Prague in 2019.
